I’m a fat man with a jelly roll, a veteran role-player, and hunky star of stage and screen all rolled into one. Or, to paraphrase Jack Nicholson, “I’ve got two outta three, and that ain’t bad!” I’ve got a beautiful wife, three rapscallions, and billions of bacteria – together we make one big, happy family! A Photoshop Junkie, MMO gamer, and tennis ball-wielding super-spy, I spend my days on a balcony overlooking the Danube, playing Death Metal’s Greatest Hits on my clarinet. I don’t pretend to know the meaning of life, but I know the meaning of “sesquipidalian”, and that makes me feel all special inside, because if you can’t beat them with brilliance, baffle them with a hyperstream of post-linguistic constructs sententially arranged so as to metaphorically and allegorically mimic the gastrointestinal effluvia of a bovine quadraped.

Right?

I am the son of parents who don’t know they are great, father to three who will change the world. I am husband to the most wonderful woman, and friend to men and women of honor and faith. I trust God, and yet I falter. I read, I write, I draw (though I never said I was any good). I think and I know, and sometimes I actually think I know.

There are conflicting reports about this Simon persona, and I’m not really here to diffuse any of them.  The truth is out there – or in there, as the case may be – but it isn’t always quite as evident as everyone would like.  Spiritual, introspective, and quiet at times, but loud, obnoxious, and boisterous at others, I’m pretty much an open book filled with scribbles and doodles.  I’d like to think that makes me (not the site, of course… just me) one of God’s many journals, but that might just be a little bit much.

I used to blog. I stopped. I came back.  I took a break, I came back again.  And now?  Well, I’m not really back for bloggery as much as I’m here to make some changes in my life.  See “About the Project” for more info on what I’m doing here.  I hope you enjoy yourself, but don’t blame you if you don’t come back for more.  At least not here.  Hopefully there will be other places I can lead you where you can find something worthwhile.
